THREE-WEEK INTENSIVE

The three-week International Summer Intensive is an audition based intensive designed for pre-professional students with a focus on classical ballet.

This intensive acts not only as a way for dancers to immerse themselves in their passion, but also as an opportunity to audition for the Professional Training Program. The schedule is carefully crafted to ensure the dancers make the most of their extra training hours focusing on making noticeable improvement in their technique and artistry. We believe that each dancer should have tangible improvement by the end of this intensive.

Acceptance into this program is by audition only. Dancers who are applying to the upcoming 20/21 season are expected to be available for both the three week and repertoire intensive.

Appropriate for dancers with the following experience in classical ballet:

Ages 9-12: no experience needed

Ages 13+: 2-3 years of ballet at a pre-professional level.

Classes in: Ballet, Contemporary, Conditioning, Repertoire, Pointe (if applicable), Jumps and Turns.

REPERTOIRE INTENSIVE

The Repertoire Intensive is an audition based coaching and creation process with a final performance experience.

Selected dancers will work alongside Professional Training Program students during an intensive two week immersion in classical and contemporary repertoire which culminates with performance experience in the“Summer’s End” showcase.

Students receive coaching by award winning faculty on a wide range of classical variations. Getting a head start on which ones may be a good fit for the upcoming season.

Dancers will be a part of creation process for new work by internationally acclaimed choreographers who are active in the professional world. Work created may also be used by the School of Cadence Ballet Professional Training Program during the upcoming season.

The Repertoire Intensive is an essential part of the preparation of students for the upcoming season. This time is integral for new students to immerse themselves in the world at SCB both artistically and socially.
